What a great time…even if I was sick the whole time! Yep, the day I left for my big adventure in Santa Clara my body decided it was time to get sick ;-(
In fact, I was so out of it that when I did finally pack my clothes to leave I had packed LOTS of undergarments, my pi’s and 7 pairs of jeans and only 4 shirts…for a 6 day trip!!! The really funny thing is that out of those 7 pairs of jeans only 3 fit!!! What was I thinking?!? The answer is that I wasn’t. I was in a medicine haze when I packed and I am just really glad I had at lease 4 shirts!
Usually, when I get to a STITCHES event I have to spend all Thursday morning helping set up the Bijou Basin Ranch booth in the market. Well, thank God for my friend Kristin Omdahl because she told me to just sleep and she would do the set up for me. I was so very grateful especially since I had my first class at 1:30 that same day. It is amazing how getting a few extra hours of sleep can really make a difference. I can’t thank Kristin enough.
Well, all of you know I had a very busy weekend planed and I wasn’t going to disappoint. So, I did teach my 3 classes, I did work on the market floor, and I did host the PJ Party!! Sure, I was exhausted at all the events and I am certain that I didn’t really act like my happy go lucky self but I WAS THERE! LOL.

The PJ Party. It was my first time I had hosted such an event and I gotta say…I think it really kicked ass
So many people were there (I wish I had a head count) and we had a plethora of prizes to give out to the guest.
Since I had lost my voice by Friday Night, XRX was thoughtful enough to have gotten me a couple microphones so I didn’t have to yell. Also, Shannon gave me the BEST tea from Peru and it soothed my throat so much.
So, what did we do at the PJ Party? I am so happy you asked. I had planed a total of three games to play throughout the night: Name that Yarn…MC’ed by Me and Kristin Omdahl
, Let’s Make a Deal…MC’ed by Jeannie Duncan and Amy Olson of Fiesta Yarns, and Pictionary…MC’ed by Shannon Dunbabin of Cascade Yarns. Gotta say that the Let’s Make a Deal was a HIT. Jeannie almost got knocked over several times when people came rushing up to her to show her this or that
It was a LOAD of fun!
I have to thank all these lovely ladies as without them I could not have done it. They helped me out immensely. And, I must have done a good job because XRX asked me to host it again! So, at STITCHES South I will be hosting the PJ Party and have a lot of games planned for there as well. So be sure to join me will ya?
Also, remember when I mentioned that I asked people to make the Ratatouille hats for the party? Well, they did!! Since many of the participants are from California and don’t really need a hat they gave them to a wonderful organization called
Halo’s of Hope run by my friend Pam Haschke. She even took a picture of one lady who gaveher hat to the organization and myself

Anyway, the rest of the trip was wonderful and as I started to feel better and better my voice became quieter and quieter until Monday morning when I literally had NO VOICE! My kids loved it but it really wasn’t good since I had a podcast to do on Tuesday and all. Sadly, I had to cancel that show and here it is two weeks later and I still don’t have my full voice back. UGH.
I want to show you some pictures from STITCHES so please check them out below

Nice recap, even if you didn’t mention how glad you were I was there
I hope you’re feeling better. DON’T write to me about your football boyfriend.
