Marly, I am so very happy for your about this latest advancement in your career! You are a wonderful example of making your passion into a career, and I am delighted for your success. I would love to see video information about beginning and advancing colorwork – techniques, tips and tricks for avoiding puckering and gaps, etc. All my best to you and your family and Tammy!

  2. Elise Thomasset says:

Congratulations on your exciting new endeavor, Marly! I enjoyed hearing the good news on your podcast today.
Here is what I would like to see: Sometimes there are too many choices for patterns and yarns on Ravelry. I am looking for that ONE perfect go-to gift for certain occasions or recipients: baby showers, birthdays, Christmas, etc. I think Red Heart yarns are perfect for creating gifts in multiples. I want to have fewer pattern choices, knowing that I am picking and creating quick, easy and universally appreciated gifts. Hey, that’s not too much to ask, right??
Thanks for all your hard work, presented with joy and enthusiasm. Thanks for creating happiness and good times wrapped in YARN 🙂

  3. Lori Biamonte says:

Hi Marly! Such exciting news about your newest endeavor. The passion you have for your career keeps us all listening.

I am shaped like a pear and would like to know what sweaters I can knit that would be appropriate for my body type. I would like some tips on altering patterns to make them fit me better. I never really know what size to make. Do I accommodate the top or the bottom?

I also love to make shawls, cowls, and scarves. Your pear sorbet shawl is in my queue.

I have 4 grandchildren and love to knit for them. Any new and different ideas for babies and children are always welcome.

Again thank you for such a fun podcast. I look forward to it every Tuesday and Thursday.

  4. Kim Wilkinson says:

Hey there Marly, I am so excited for you. I can’t wait to see some of your videos. I have not watched any yet, but I love your vibe so I know that I will love them. I would like to see different cast on and bind off techniques and techniques for shaping socks.

  5. Linda says:

Marly, congrats on your new venture. I don’t know how you find the time. Anyway, I’d like to see a video on how to knit a Latvian braid.

  6. Anita Dodds says:

i loved todays show. Your excitement and happiness felt contagious. Congratulations and best of luck in this new adventure. There is no doubt among your podcast listeners that you will succeed.

  7. Vicki Lynch says:

Very exciting news. I wanted to congratulate you on this new venture and for being able to keep it a secret. That had to have been tough. I would have wanted share right away.

    • Vicki Lynch says:

I just listened to the show and found out I needed to let you know things I’d love to learn about.
How do I keep from getting ladders when knitting socks? I usually use magic loop, but I’m trying DPN’s this time to see if that helps.
What are some easy to do stretchy bind offs that you like for sock cuffs and shawls?

  8. Kathy Moffett says:

Congratulations on the new venture with Red Heart. I am a new listener. I just found your great pod cast a couple of months ago. I love your pod cast and look forward to Tuesday and Thursdays so I can listen.

I just found your You Tube classes last night. They are wonderful. I am a knitter. I just learned to crochet a couple of years ago but still consider myself a beginner because I have only crocheted simple items like scarves and blankets.

I would love to see how to add borders to pieces especially if a more open stitch was used. I’m okay with a single or double crochet, but not sure how to do this on the edges and not leave a big gapping hole.

I would also like to have a class on knitting your first sweater. I’m not sure what sweater would be a good first sweater and how to do the shaping or seaming. Is there a trick to seaming crocheted pieces so they look nice a neat. I just found out how to do that for knitting.

Listening to you and hearing about the great crochet patterns from you and other designers has inspired me to grow in my crochet skills by watching your You Tube classes and signing up for Craftsy classes. Thank you so much.

  9. jackie d says:

Congrats!! I have really enjoyed listening to your podcast as i knit or sew or bake or clean or whatever! I cant wait to see your videos. As shameful as it is, i would love to learn to REALLY weave in ends the right way. Goofy, i know.

  10. Linda says:

I’m thrilled for you, Marly! I love Red Heart yarn, and the two of you are a wonderful fit. I would like to see knitting videos about fixing mistakes, tips and tricks, and anything amigurumi. I am a more confident crocheter than I am a knitter, so all knitting topics would be helpful for me to advance my skills. I second the request about learning to weave in ends. It’s harder for me to hide them in my knitting than in crocheted projects.

Love your podcasts! Thank you for brightening my days; you are so much fun! Tammy is the best, too!

  11. Ida Middendorf says:

Hey Marly! Congrats! Just think of how many more people you can share the love of yarn with!
I would love to learn how to use a foundation crochet to start a chevron blanket.
Best of wishes to you on this new exciting time in your career!
    Ida

  12. Mary L. says:

Congratulations Marly! Your podcast is wonderful and so informative. I would also love some tips on weaving in ends. Very often I work with chunky yarn and large needles when making scarves, blankets etc.. I have a terrible time trying to hide those ends within the loose texture that I have created!

  13. Diane Peach says:

Congrats on your new venture, Marly! I’m a beginning crocheter, and I’d like to see a video of how to work back and forth in crochet, without adding or losing stitches from the starting stitch count!

  14. Stephanie Axman says:

Congratulations on this great new adventure. I’m sure this will be a big success, you have such a fun personality! I would love help with laddering when I use double pointed needles. And loosening up my bind offs.

  15. Michele Byars says:

Congratulations, my dear Marly!!! Today’s show was definitely all about showing you the love. I don’t think you realize how much you mean to all of us. We just love the heck outta you!!

What I am really excited to see you teach knitting-wise is lace knitting. I absolutely love the look of lace knitting but just don’t know where to start. I’m really excited to learn to knit lace.

On the crochet side, I’d love to see hairpin lace, broomstick lace, and Solomon’s knot techniques shown. Maybe even some Tunisian crochet lessons.

Keep up the fantastic work and congrats again!!!! You deserve it!!!

  16. Deb Wagner says:

Hello Marly. I hope this new business adventure brings you everything you are looking for in advancing your career. I am truly enjoying your podcasts and while there were several suggestions about changing it to a “video cast”, I have to say I like to listen while doing other things. laundry, dishes, cooking, baking, knitting, grocery shopping, etc… so I would find it inhibiting if it was always a video that I had to watch. So I hope you keep it a podcast.
As far as an idea for a u-tube video I would like a lesson on doing seams on a crochet garment. I would also like a lesson on changing colors for both crochet and knitting.

  17. melissa cash says:

Congratulations on your mash up with Red Heart! I look forward to seeing your knit and crochet videos. I crochet now, but would love to learn to knit and find it easy to follow you when you are teaching in video. I am such a visual learner. I live in a very small town and we don’t have a local yarn shop and little to no opportunity to get hands on help. I would love to learn to crochet slippers. I have made many scarves, grannies, blankets and accessories, but never slippers.

  18. Rose Ruffolo says:

    Hello Marly & Tammy,

    CONGRATULATIONS MARLY!

You are the sweetest and that definitely came through on today’s podcast.

I am sooo glad that the people who called in were all so lovely. They eloquently expressed the exact same sentiments that I feel about both you and Tammy.

I am super exited for you. Keep up the great work! We are all behind you!

    With much admiration and respect,
    Rose Ruffolo.

    • Rose says:

PS I would looove to learn more about crochet cables and braides, Intarsia crochet and diverse foundation chains.

      Thanks Marly!

  20. joyce hancock says:

Congrats Marly on your news. This is a big step for you and I feel your excitement! There are a few techniques I would like to learn so those would be what I would like you to teach. Entrelac and multi-color knitting would be something great to learn. I’m so glad you are including knitting as I don’t crochet. Good luck with all of these changes!

  21. Lorraine S. says:

This is such great news! I’m so happy for you! I learn so much listening to your podcast and watching your videos. I look forward to even more videos from you. I am a crocheter and would love to learn how to do broomstick lace and Tunisian crochet. Now that Iknow you will be doing knitting videos is there any chance that you would do some beginner knitting videos? I have always wanted to learn to knit and would be very interested in those also. Keep up the great podcast! You do fantastic job! Your smile comes through the microphone and brightens my day.

  22. Missy says:

Congrats Marly! So happy for you! I have an idea… so I’m a crochet addict… and I want to learn to knit, but I’m having trouble going from 1 stick to 2! Could you do a video with tips for crocheters who want to knit?

Seriously, I really do plan my day around the podcast. My work friends all know to leave me be while Marly’s on. Haha!

    And Tammy is just fabulous.

Thank you for doing the show!!!

  23. Carol says:

Congrats on your new relationship with Red Heart. It sounds like a wonderful opportunity for you and I can’t wait to see some of your knitting videos.
I would really like to see a video on the different methods to apply beads to knitting projects.
    Thanks

  24. Sarah Short says:

CONGRATULATIONS MARLY!!! I’m so excited for you! I would like to see videos about how to fix knitting and crochet mistakes.

Also, I really liked the podcast on Tuesday. It was nice to hear from Marly and Tammy as well as what they are up to.

  25. Michele Byars says:

Congratulations Marly!!!! I’m so incredibly happy for you and you deserve this incredible achievement.

I’d love to see videos on how to do lace knitting, hairpin crochet, broomstick lace crochet, Tunisian crochet and Solomon’s knot crochet. I’d really love to get information for experienced crocheters on transitioning to knitting. It seems the patterns read so differently at times. I’m an avid sock knitter but really want to get into garment knitting.

  26. Lisa Nixon says:

How BLESSED so many people are by this fantastic announcement of you doing videos on behalf of Red Heart. What I would like to see if instructions that say “if you are left handed then do this” and “if you knit continental and purl norwegian this is what your movements will be.

  27. Kate M says:

Congrats! Can’t wait to start watching your videos. I would love to see some tips on seaming and sewing in ends so there isn’t bulk and you don’t see them on the front side. Thanks!

  28. Michelle says:

Hey Marly! Congratulations on the new hat you get to wear from Red Heart. I enjoy your videos. I am new to knitting so I would like a video of tips and hints you wished you had known when you first started knitting.

  29. Karen B says:

Congratulations, Marly! I’m really looking forward to the new knit videos. I love the crochet ones too! What I’d really like to see are some tricks and techniques. You know the expression “you don’t know what you don’t know”? Well, there are so many things I am completely ignorant about. For instance, I didn’t know what a “jog” was let alone that you can have a joggles jog. I was thrilled to learn that this week! Had no idea it was an issue, let alone that it could be fixed. I’m sure there are hundreds of things novices don’t know about. Best of luck on your latest venture!

  30. Melissa C. says:

Congrats on your new adventure! EVERYONE has used Red Heart at one time or another, it’s like an old, trusted friend. I can’t wait to check out your videos! I read through the above comments and there are so many good suggestions I hate to add anything! Thanks for all you do!
