I know I won’t win anything for being the first commenter 🙂 but I love the stories of how each of your guests got their start in knitting!

  2. Mary says:

Hi Marly! Loved the show. I would love to win all three STORY knitting books! I love Donna and I have purchased all three Craftsy classes. Thanks for sharing the love. Mary

  3. Cherita Md says:

I love listening to the stories that people tell while they are crafting (I sew, cook, knit, crochet, etc so I watch a lot of videos). I get bored just watching a technical video-I want the story time as well! It makes it so much more meaningful when you can listen to someone relating how they got interested in something or the great memory they have of their aunt or mom or dad or whatever the story is behind the things they are creating. I love making the connections with people & being able to relate to someone I’ve never met no matter who or where they are from they are still just like me!

  4. Annette says:

Thank you for a great podcast….full of stories! I am eager to review a knit book that offers more than just patterns. Thanks again.

  5. Susan Crosby says:

Knitting stories make the experince of knitting so much richer. Thank you for another great interview. It was nice to be introduced to Donna who I have heard of via Craftsy.com but knew notthing about.

  7. kim dawson says:

Stories of our past help shape our souls and our future. I love history and even worked on our family history with my grandmother before she passed.we went pretty far back.. it was an amazing time spent and something i have to share with my children as they grow.

  8. Anja Außem says:

I love stories – to listen or to read – and I love knitting; how wonderful to have those 2 combined ☺️

  9. Brenda Reynoso Pena says:

it was nice to hear Donna and know more about her past. I know her from Cratsy and she is a great teacher. I am sure her knitting stories book is just as interesting as her classes.

Wow! Your book sounds so intriguing. I love the combo of history and knitting. I’ll have to look into it! And with cruises and craftsy, you’re everywhere! I bet you have lots of great stories to share of the knitting world!

  13. Renee says:

Great show! And, yes, the STORY of knitting is wonderful! Truly enjoyed this show and am looking at the classes now!!

  14. Ruthie says:

Interesting topic for a book-knitting history and stories. Also the story of how the book came about!

  15. Vicki Lynch says:

I loved reading the stories that went with the patterns in Ron’s book and was so glad to hear you have a book with stories too. Not only do you have one, you have several! I have a lot of catching up to do, can’t wait to read your books and try your patterns too.

  16. Alison says:

It is alway fascinating to hear the story of other people. History and knitting are both huge interests of mine, so these books would be fantastic.

  17. colleen says:

If you can combine good stories, with a bit of history and specific references to knitting…how awesome. Thanks again for a great podcast. I’ll give you a great rating in itunes.

  18. Rachel (tinygeekcrafter) says:

I have taken two of Donna’s Craftsy classes and that is were I learned to knit socks. I love listening to a good audiobook story while I’m knitting and her new book venture sounds amazing. A great way to combine the cultural heritage of knitters and our world history all at the same time.

  19. Mary pat says:

Thanks for your STORY , Donna. I also am enrolled in one of your sock craftsy classes. Great stuff and thanks!

  20. radinnh says:

History and stories bring depth and enrich the craft of knitting. My grandma always told us stories of the knitters and crocheters she knew as her fingers flew. Thanks Donna and Marly.

  21. Carol says:

I am really looking forward to sharing the stories in this series, especially the WWII volume…thank you!

  22. Iryna Boehland says:

Wonderful conversation, Ladies! How interesting to hear about your not-s-crafty parents!
I also picked up my craftiness from my grandma. I think my mom appreciates it a lot!
Donna, I’ve been to Lithuanian several times. People there are so crafty and knitting was always a big part of their culture! I used to love to buy yarn made there – it’s beautiful and mostly wool. Ladies there make elegant shawls and lace-knitting.
I would love to read your books. It’s always fascinating to learn history and read the Story that is related to knitting…
I know a girl from Orenburg, Liliya, from long line of heritage knitting, and she tries to teach people to spin and knit Orenburg technique on Ravelry, the real old technique.

  23. CraftyLadyMel says:

I love a good story! When we were little and would visit our relatives we would sit and listen to the stories of who came to America and all about their trip and being new to this country. However, I can’t remember anyone in my family knitting or crocheting so I am the “odd” duck out. I am making new stories for our future generations though. Love the podcast Marly!!!

  24. Rose says:

THANKS SOOOO MUCH MARLY, DONNA, CORNEILA AND TAMMY! I am so excited to have won the prize!

    LOVE THE PODCAST MARLY!

  25. jen says:

i only recently heard this show and very much enjoyed it. what especially was encouraging to me was donna’s confession that she has no willpower in resisting books. too often i feel like i buy too many knit/crochet books, that perhaps i’m being wasteful, but everything she said about books was so true, like when she said sometimes you’ll just read one line in one book and suddenly it will open up a whole new idea in you. now i feel so much better about my book collection! 🙂
